E+A = R

I’m often asked- How do you do it, Jenn?  You don’t look like you work much and yet you run several projects.

Here’s my Freedom Secret:  Efficiency + Automation = Relaxation

After every phase of a Project, I schedule blocks of time and budget to focus on Efficiency and Automation, before moving on to the next phase.  Here’s are some strategies I use:

  • Ask myself how can I make these task more Efficient?  Can I Automate?
  • Understand some of the task can be 100% automated, and some can be partially automated.  Try to be in the Gray Zone, more than Black & White Zone in Business.  I save a lot of time by partially automate as much as possible.
  • Make a wish lists of what you want automated, then sit with it and choose what you feel comfortable automating.  For example, most of my Social Media activities are automated.  But there’s one thing I choose not to automate- which is having personal contact on my Facebook Wall.  I feel right being there.  I don’t feel right automating my posts there.
  • I budget time for Reflection in every Project- for Clients and Personal Projects.  This means, I will quote a Client 10 days instead of 5 days on a Project, for example.  This leave me plenty of time to Reflect every step of the way in a Project.  I also give myself the Gift of Freedom.  If I feel a need to take a break for personal Reflection, I will.  I choose Me so I can give 100% of Me on their Projects.  This creates a Balance for me.  PS:  Because I allow myself the Freedom, most of the time Projects are done fast, effortless, and on target!  =)
